Facebook, Twitter, YouTube are all examples of social media applications. Social media represents a paradigm shift in health communications and a return to the roots of health promotion simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSocial media enables individual users &#8212; individually and collectively &#8212; to generate content at the center of the message and the medium. Placing organizations, networks and individuals on equal ground increases the potential to engage all sectors of the public on issues related to the social determinants of health and health equity.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBuilding on discussions with members of the Health Equity Clicks: online community, and through interaction with webinar participants, we will explore the following questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tHow are public health organizations using social media to share evidence about the social determinants of health, and engage others in this work (communities, intersectoral partners, etc)?<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWhat strategies can be used to capture and evaluate the use of social media in public health efforts related to the social determinants of health and health equity?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tThis webinar will be presented by Cameron Norman and Pemma Muzumdar. <a href=\"https:\/\/sdhsocialmedia.eventbrite.ca\/\">To register for this webinar, click here<\/a>.
