Il est con&ccedil;u pour am&eacute;liorer les comp&eacute;tences des professionnels travaillant directement ou indirectement avec les Autochtones en les aidant &agrave; am&eacute;liorer leurs connaissances sur la culture autochtone et &agrave; accro&icirc;tre leur conscience de soi. Le programme comporte trois volets, chacun n&eacute;cessitant de cinq &agrave; neuf heures &eacute;chelonn&eacute;es sur une p&eacute;riode de six &agrave; huit semaines. Les trois volets sont : 1) CORE ICC &mdash; &eacute;l&eacute;ments fondamentaux d&rsquo;une comp&eacute;tence culturelle; 2) CORE ICC Health &mdash; probl&egrave;mes v&eacute;cus par les Autochtones au chapitre des soins de sant&eacute; et 3) CORE ICC Mental Health &mdash; probl&egrave;mes de sant&eacute; mentale v&eacute;cus par les Autochtones.<\/p>\n<p>&Agrave; l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;activit&eacute;s interactives et du soutien d&rsquo;un animateur, les personnes participantes &eacute;tudient la culture, les st&eacute;r&eacute;otypes et l&rsquo;h&eacute;ritage de la colonisation et d&eacute;veloppent leurs aptitudes &agrave; &eacute;tablir des liens et &agrave; communiquer d&rsquo;une mani&egrave;re positive.<\/p>\n<p>Au cours des trois derni&egrave;res ann&eacute;es, environ 10 000 personnes ont suivi les trois volets du programme de cours, lequel est gratuit pour tous les fonctionnaires de la r&eacute;gie r&eacute;gionale de la sant&eacute; de la C.-B. et du minist&egrave;re de la Sant&eacute; et pour toutes les personnes travaillant en soins de sant&eacute; aupr&egrave;s des organismes autochtones. Le co&ucirc;t est de 250 $ pour les autres. Cette &eacute;quipe passe en revue les cybercours portant sur l&rsquo;&eacute;quit&eacute; en sant&eacute; et les d&eacute;terminants sociaux de la sant&eacute; offerts aux intervenants du domaine de la sant&eacute; publique.
