On estime que l&rsquo;assurance d&rsquo;un revenu de base permettrait de r&eacute;gler les iniquit&eacute;s de revenu et leurs r&eacute;percussions n&eacute;fastes sur les plans social, &eacute;conomique et de sant&eacute;. Collig&eacute; sous la direction d&rsquo;Alex Himelfarb et de Trish Hennessy, le recueil d&rsquo;essais porte sur l&rsquo;incidence d&rsquo;un revenu de base comme option strat&eacute;gique pour rem&eacute;dier aux iniquit&eacute;s sociales et du revenu. Certains textes explorent la possibilit&eacute; qu&rsquo;un revenu de base repr&eacute;sente un autre moyen d&rsquo;investir dans l&rsquo;&eacute;quit&eacute; et la justice sociale.<\/p>\n<p>Concernant le revenu de base, l&rsquo;ouvrage offre de nombreux points de vue diff&eacute;rents qui peuvent &ecirc;tre pris en compte dans la mise en &oelig;uvre de politiques, par exemple :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>les conditions sociales et &eacute;conomiques n&eacute;cessaires &agrave; la mise en &oelig;uvre d&rsquo;un programme de revenu de base et les r&eacute;percussions sur les r&eacute;sultats en mati&egrave;re de sant&eacute; et de logement;<\/li>\n<li>la mani&egrave;re dont le revenu de base contribue &agrave; r&eacute;duire la pauvret&eacute;, y compris les r&eacute;percussions sur les groupes marginalis&eacute;s comme les Autochtones;<\/li>\n<li>l&rsquo;alignement du revenu de base avec les normes d&rsquo;emploi et les programmes de soutien aux familles;<\/li>\n<li>les consid&eacute;rations en mati&egrave;re de politiques concernant le march&eacute; du travail et d&rsquo;autres programmes de services sociaux ou publics &agrave; caract&egrave;re essentiel;<\/li>\n<li>les controverses historiques associ&eacute;es &agrave; la strat&eacute;gie du revenu de base garanti.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Les directeurs du rapport s&rsquo;abstiennent d&rsquo;apporter leur appui inconditionnel au concept du revenu de base, mais ne pr&eacute;sentent pas non plus d&rsquo;argument convaincant contre la strat&eacute;gie.
