{"id":6566,"date":"2023-10-20T10:34:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T10:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nccdh.local\/resource\/hospital-care-for-patients-uninsured-due-to-immigration-status-during-the-covid-19-pandemic-in-toronto-lessons-from-front-line-knowledge-translation\/"},"modified":"2025-11-06T17:15:23","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T17:15:23","slug":"hospital-care-for-patients-uninsured-due-to-immigration-status-during-the-covid-19-pandemic-in-toronto-lessons-from-front-line-knowledge-translation","status":"publish","type":"resource","link":"https:\/\/nccdh-dev.media-doc.ca\/fr\/resources\/entry\/hospital-care-for-patients-uninsured-due-to-immigration-status-during-the-covid-19-pandemic-in-toronto-lessons-from-front-line-knowledge-translation\/","title":{"rendered":"Hospital care for patients uninsured due to immigration status during the COVID-19 pandemic in Toronto: Lessons from front-line knowledge translation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Cette ressource est disponible en anglais seulement.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&laquo;&thinsp;Le groupe d&rsquo;intervention [du R&eacute;seau de sant&eacute; &agrave; l&rsquo;intention de la client&egrave;le sans r&eacute;gime d&rsquo;assurance] contre la pand&eacute;mie avait un objectif clair et sans &eacute;quivoque : s&rsquo;assurer que les patients non couverts par un r&eacute;gime d&rsquo;assurance peuvent avoir acc&egrave;s sans frais aux soins hospitaliers n&eacute;cessaires de l&rsquo;avis d&rsquo;un m&eacute;decin.&thinsp;&raquo;<\/em><\/strong> (P. 27, traduction libre)<\/p>\n<p>Le statut d&rsquo;immigration est un d&eacute;terminant de la sant&eacute; de la plus haute importance pour les sans-papiers ou les personnes &agrave; statut d&rsquo;immigration pr&eacute;caire au Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Les personnes migrantes vivant au Canada sont souvent exclues de la couverture du syst&egrave;me des soins de sant&eacute; universel, ce qui les emp&ecirc;che d&rsquo;avoir acc&egrave;s aux services de sant&eacute; ou de sant&eacute; publique et engendre des in&eacute;galit&eacute;s de sant&eacute; &eacute;vitables.<\/p>\n<p>En r&eacute;ponse aux lacunes du syst&egrave;me universel, le minist&egrave;re de la Sant&eacute; de l&rsquo;Ontario a octroy&eacute; de 2020 &agrave; 2023 des fonds d&eacute;di&eacute;s aux &eacute;tablissements hospitaliers afin de couvrir les co&ucirc;ts des soins fournis de l&rsquo;avis d&rsquo;un m&eacute;decin &agrave; toute personne vivant en Ontario sans &eacute;gard &agrave; son statut d&rsquo;immigration ou &agrave; sa couverture d&rsquo;assurance maladie.<\/p>\n<p>En r&eacute;alit&eacute;, le manque de coh&eacute;rence dans l&rsquo;application de la politique a eu pour effet de maintenir les barri&egrave;res &agrave; l&rsquo;acc&egrave;s aux services hospitaliers, y compris, sans s&rsquo;y limiter, au traitement contre la COVID-19, aux soins p&eacute;rinataux et aux soins d&rsquo;urgence.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;article d&eacute;crit l&rsquo;approche d&rsquo;application des connaissances adopt&eacute;e par le Health Network for Uninsured Clients pour rem&eacute;dier aux rat&eacute;s observ&eacute;s dans l&rsquo;utilisation de la politique &agrave; l&rsquo;&eacute;chelle locale.
