Using an innovative approach, the event linked over 100 stakeholders across four regions to explore a <a href=\"http:\/\/tamarackcommunity.ca\/g3s61_2012j.html\">collective impact approach<\/a> to improving health equity in rural\/remote settings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tPresenters included <a href=\"https:\/\/nccdh-dev.media-doc.ca\/fr\/our-centre\/our-staff\/\">Connie Clement<\/a> (NCCDH); <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfu.ca\/carmha\/people\/facultyandstaff\/zrappelli.html\">Rebecca Zappelli<\/a> (Simon Fraser University and the Vancouver Mental Health and Addictions Collective Impact Study); <a href=\"https:\/\/northernhealth.ca\/AboutUs\/NorthernHealthLeaders\/ExecutiveBios.aspx\">Dr. Sandra Allison<\/a> (Northern Health); <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nccah-ccnsa.ca\/313\/Academic_Lead.nccah\">Dr. Margo Greenwood<\/a> (NCCAH and Northern Health); <a href=\"http:\/\/healtharts.ca\/profiles\/kendra-mitchell-foster\/\">Dr. Kendra Mitchell-Foster<\/a> (Northern Health); and <a href=\"http:\/\/tamarackcommunity.ca\/about_team.html#liz\">Liz Weaver<\/a> (Tamarack).<\/p>\n<p>\n\tParticipants built on the following areas of &ldquo;readiness&rdquo; for health equity and collective impact, as identified by local public health staff in northern BC, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and the Yukon:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tChild health (Prince George, BC)<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tYouth mental health and wellness (Whitehorse, YT)<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tAboriginal mental health and suicide prevention (Grande Prairie, AB)<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWomen and youth tobacco reduction (Prince Albert, SK)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tThree weeks later, a webinar was held to share evaluation results and discuss what was learned across the four sites, as well as opportunities for next steps.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>Acknowledgments<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\n\tThis event would not have been possible without the support of our partners and funders.
