The project will utilize an international learning circle, working in tandem with three practice sites to learn what frameworks, strategies and organizational conditions are most useful and effective to develop and sustain Canadian public health organizational capacity for health equity action.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\tBenefits of participating<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tAccess to state-of-the-art expertise, current evidence and awareness of emerging innovations<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSupport for the implementation of a concrete, time-limited organizational change project with actionable steps and supported by an NCCDH knowledge translation specialist<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tIncreased knowledge and skills on the part of participating staff, ideally amplified by employee learning throughout the department<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tNuts and bolts problem-solving and information exchange according to your own schedule, and involving colleagues from different jurisdictions<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tEnhanced, mutually supporting professional networks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\n\tEligible applicants (<a href=\"https:\/\/nccdh-dev.media-doc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/NCCDH_Organizational_Capacity_Project_2018_Practice_Site_Expectations_EN.pdf\" target=\"_self\">site expectations<\/a>)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tPublic health departments within regional health authorities, provincial\/territorial ministries or departments of health<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tPublic health units<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tProvincial public health agencies\/institutes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tNote: Practice sites are expected to send two staff to a two-day day meeting in Montreal, QC, following the Canadian Public Health Association&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpha.ca\/publichealth2018\" target=\"_blank\">Public Health 2018<\/a> conference (May 31, 2018, and June 1, 2018)<\/p>\n<h2>\n\tTo learn more, please contact <a href=\"mailto:nccdh@stfx.ca\">nccdh@stfx.ca<\/a>.<\/h2>\n<h3>\n\t&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3>\n\tWe would be happy to provide<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tfurther information about this organizational capacity initiative;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tcriteria for selecting the three practice sites;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\trequirements expected of participating departments; and<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tsupport for developing a simple application along with a preliminary project proposal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\n\tNew deadlines<\/h2>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Application deadline: April 13, 2018.
